Collaboration - Complete Set

It's been a busy month for us Animancers! We've been prepping our scene for awhile now tweaking a few things here and there ever since Mary Poppins became apart of our skit. After completing the textures and the models we set out to make our scene for animating and it's turned out better than we expected! Now on to animating!

Collabortation - Orthographs

These are our Orthographs for all the objects that have been modelled.

Collaboration - Live Action Reference

This is our acting reference from our lessons with Dan. Our tutorial with Dan led us to changing some aspects of our animation. The main change was that the old lady character is now Mary Poppins, so that there's some logic to how the bag can fit all these objects. Also, now we can plan out our animation and figure out the movements of the characters.

Collaboration - Updated Props

I'ts been a busy week for us Animancers! After some feedback we've had to change the minor parts of our animation, our old lady character has now transformed into Mary Poppins and her bag now has her own personalized objects! This change was suggested to maintain the magic of the animation and have a bit of character added! The props are still the same but with a Victorian theme added to it to fit the time period of Mary poppins, of course the setting is staying the same but it will introduce a new side to the setting!

The Wrong Response to a Backfired Mugging - Production Art

'The Wrong Response to...' Second Script Draft

Swimming Pool · Skit Evolution

The Swiming pool skit began life as 'The Wrong Response to... Drowning', a macabre subject but we saw the potential when played right for something very funny. The idea began life on a beach, there were three components which contributed to the skit. The first one was the Lifeguard, we went from having him as a hunky Baywatch character, the crazy character of the skit, was scared of water, and/or failed to save the drowning victim in some way, suggests went from being unable to swim, to being scared by a shark fin, to trying to bail out the ocean with a bucket, to taking his time to blow up an inflatable boat.  The problems began to arise when we thought more about the concept of having to create an environment using water. This forced us to consider more options, we had a good formula but it needed tweaking. It was then suggested that the Drowning person become the crazy person; in this scenario, the lifeguard was the serious character. Concepts then went from ideas of...

'The Wrong Response to..' - Character and Prop Design

Below are some of the ideas constructed from our phase of designing the characters and props for 'The Wrong Response to...'. It is important to us that we create props and characters which personality from the first moment of meeting them on screen, but also keeping them stereotypical enough to instantly know what their role in the skit is. We need the props to convey a mood as well as a purpose in the scene. These are our preliminary sketches and digital drawings to cement us an anchor point to our world.   Lifeguard / Swimming Skit Swimmer / Swimming Skit Robber / Robbing Skit

Robbery Skit · Evolution

Since picking our prompt some of our ideas have gone through a lot of different changes. This is just a brief run down of how we developed our ideas and got to where we are at.  Location: Alleyway Street Stage with building and Alley props  Victim:  Victim female Victim becomes the robber and robs the original one (abandoned idea) Mary Poppins like bag, robber keeps pulling more and more ideas out  Banana phone pulled from bag confusing the robber (accompanying chosen)  Trampoline used as another ridiculous object to be pulled out, further confusing the robber  Robber hands balloons to victim which he pulls out her bag and she floats away  Police Badge Pulled out of the bag by the robber, causing the robber to run away ( chosen idea) Robber:   Gets angry and snatches victims bag  Climbs into the bag, disappears and bag gets picked up/taken away  Pulls out police badge, realises victim is a polic...
